Shabbat Services

Shabbat Services:

First Friday of the Month – 7:30 pm
Third Friday of the Month – 7:30 pm

Our Shabbat services are unique, incorporating meditation, chanting, original and traditional melodies, even joyous dancing in the aisles. Our prayer book includes Hebrew, English and transliteration. If the liturgy is unfamiliar, you’re encouraged to hum along. We sing and pray together, and support each other. All our services conclude with an Oneg featuring desserts, fellowship and shmoozing. We celebrate Shabbat services together on the first and third Friday of each month at 7:30 pm. Our singers and musicians enhance the service with traditional and contemporary songs and prayers.

Founded by Rabbi Ted Falcon, we have been blessed with many amazing spiritual & religious teachers, including Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, z”l, & Rabbi Debra Orenstein.

Makom Ohr Shalom shares the sacred and beautiful space of Bethel Lutheran Church for our services, located at 17500 Burbank Blvd., Encino, CA 91316. Our congregation enjoys creating the energies of interfaith worship to provide a platform for world peace and Tikkun Olam. There is plenty of free parking behind the sanctuary and the social hall, with the entrance on Encino Avenue. We invite your membership!

No one is turned away due to finances.
