Code of Conduct
•
All members and guests of Makom Ohr
Shalom shall respect the privacy of all
information shared by other members and
clergy during any event, in person or virtually.
•
All sharing during non-broadcast services
or non-broadcast parts of services shall be
treated as confidential.
•
When sharing during discussions, virtual or
in person, members shall refrain from talking
about other people as examples, unless that
person is a public figure.
•
When participating in healing circles,
virtual or in person, no member or guest shall
put another person’s name in without express
permission from that person.
•
When participating in healing circles,
virtual or in person, no member or guest shall
make known the conditions that need to be
healed for another individual unless they have
already been made public to the community.
•
No member of Makom Ohr Shalom shall
offer a congregant or guest unsolicited medical
advice.
•
All members and guests shall respect each
other’s boundaries of physical space and
practices.
•
All members and guests will be mindful of
time constraints by only sharing pertinent
information.
•
All members and guests shall respect the
leadership by following the agenda set forth by
the leadership.
•
If a member or a guest has any issues,
suggestions, or complaints, please respond
privately to the person involved, or the
leadership of Makom. Any negative
communication or disruptions made in person,
or online either on Facebook, Zoom, or any
other online platform will be immediately shut
down and grounds for membership suspension.
•
All members and guests will not
misrepresent the community by acting as a
spokesperson without board authorization.
•
All members and guests shall respect our
clergy and board members by not excessively
contacting them either by email, text, or in
person.
•
While attending any Makom event, either
in person or online, we would appreciate
dressing in an appropriate and respectful
manner.
•
Bullying, verbal abuse, discriminatory
jokes, sexual harassment, and disparaging
remarks will NOT be tolerated and are cause
for termination of membership and, if
appropriate, further punitive action by
authorities.
•
All members and guests of Makom shall
treat each other with respect, kindness, and
