Rabbi Adam Ruditsky
Rabbi Adam Ruditsky was ordained by the Academy for Jewish Religion of Califoinia here in Los Angeles. Spiritually, Rabbi Adam embraces the words of the Kotzker Rebbe who taught, “a whole heart is a broken heart,” meaning that on the journey of life we have the opportunity to be strengthened and restored, making the heart joyful along the way. Our tradition has always been an answer to life regardless of its challenges, and it's never too late to embrace our birthright or join in.  Aside from leading Makom Ohr Shalom since July 2019, Rabbi Adam serves as a Spiritual Counselor for Skirball Hospice, the hospice of the Los Angeles Jewish Home, and is freelance in the community as needed. Prior to becoming a Rabbi he worked as a healthcare Chaplain for the 13 years, before that owning a Judaica business for 15 years. Although Rabbi Adam would return to Judaism in earnest, he had also spent time in other religious communities and has a background in Interfaith work. Rabbi Adam is not only an ordained Rabbi but holds a professional license with the National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC). Education wise Rabbi Adam holds a Masters in Rabbinic Studies ( AJR, California), Jewish Studies (Hebrew College, Boston, MA) and New Testament Studies (ATS, Nyack, NY), as well as a certificate in Palliative Care Chaplaincy ( Univ. of san Marcos, CA) and a certificate from Dick Grove School of Music in Composing and Arranging. Currently Rabbi Adam is also a member in good standing with the Southern California Board of Rabbis based here in Los Angeles. Rabbi Adam Ruditsky lives in Encino, CA with his wife Catharine and they have 4 adult sons: Joel, Austin, Ben and Reuven, plus two cats, Smores and Hank.
